Moving Into Rivendell
We finally moved into one wing of Rivendell, our new
community shelter. We celebrated Thanksgiving there. The timing felt
right. Our old shelter had served us well for over twenty-five years.
Having started out as a drafty 8x10 granary shed, it had been re-modeled
several times. But it was starting to show its age, especially during the
winter.
So there were strong practical reasons for making the move. And from a
"waking dream" perspective, it was feeling as though one can't
move into something new unless one is willing to let go of the old. Even
though we're not ready to move into Rivendell in its completed form
(the eventual kitchen and living room still need lots of work), it was
important to make a significant step in that direction.
A concerted burst of energy helped to facilitate our transition from the
old to the new. It was
energy well spent. We're in a warm, cozy, well-lighted environment and are
happy to be here.
